Abundant Bee Fit
Yo Yo Dieting - End of an era

Like so many people out there I have been had over and over again by the next new thing that you shouldn't eat or should eat. Supplement you should or should not take, etc.

It is crazy to look back and think of the gym rat version of myself 20 years ago that was amped up on Ephedra (before it was illegal) or taking way too much Hydroxycut. I can't even imagine functioning in that jittery world anymore. No wonder I used to run on the treadmil for over an hour every day.

NOT the healthy version of me!

I would spend the next 20 years gaining and loosing weight over and over again. Sometimes just a few pounds and sometimes in excess of 80 lbs.

NOT the healthy version of me!

What I needed to come to the conclusion about was building a healthy relationship with food (deserts and bread especially) while allowing myself to enjoy food instead of restricting everything about it.

If you seriously want to be the person that says "But I love eating salads every day, why don't you like that?"..... well we just can't be friends. Might as well move on to another blog. HA! If you wake up and just can't wait to chug down your protein shakes... well you are out also!

If you have struggled in your weight journey you know people like that or even worse than that. Well, that isn't me! I like bread and ice cream too much!

Ready for the Run

Make The Change

Each person has their workout that isn't that horrible to them and they kinda somewhat enjoy it.

For me that workout is Bikram Yoga! Yes, you probably think I am crazy since I am subjecting myself to a room that will get up to 106 degrees with 70% humidity. Yep!

I LOVE IT!!! I sweat like a fountain and it feels

amazing! You have the best sleep of your life on days you go.

Even better, now thanks to COVID restrictions you don't have the person next to you in class practically on your mat with you (rooms used to be so crowded years ago that you could barely move in your pose). Now you have a designated taped out place on the floor for your mat and you are socially distanced from the others. More than enough room to work out.

Bikram Yoga

I have found the thing that I love about Bikram is I am going to get an amazing sweat/workout, detox my body, and stretch my body at the same time. When you are sweating like you are in class you are releasing so many toxins and stressors from your body as the heat is helping you relax.

Now I do give a warning as Bikram Yoga is not a "simple yoga class" by any means. You have to work hard to get into the correct position and get the full effect of the stretch. It's no joke. I sometimes feel like fat couldn't possibly get into that position, but then it does!

Starting tomorrow (11/27/21) I can officially start going to class 5 days a week now. I will start to see results very quickly!

As I love to be honest about where I am in my weightloss journey and stay accountable I am going to post my weekly weight updates here also.

(11/27/21) - Current Weight: 196 lbs (Yes, I staying accountable to being honest with you!)

Can't wait to see what a week of Bikram does this week!

Running a Marathon

As 2022 started, I knew I needed to make a new goal.

Something that felt impossible to me!

I am NOT a fan of running so I decided that had to be it! I was going to run my first marathon!

I have downloaded an amazing app called Fitness22 that connects with my Spotify playlist and tells me when to run and when to walk.

I am about to start my training this coming week (Feb 19th).

I am excited to keep you updated!

Paleo

If you haven't looked into the Paleo diet, I highly recommend it.

What I love most about it is the ease of trying new things and not having to measure everything out.

I have failed so many times on other diets that were too specific.

Check out one of my favorite recent meals:

Pan Seared Ahi Tuna, Asparagus, Cauliflower Rice, Fingerling Potatoes

I know there may be some back and forth wether or not potatoes are okay on Paleo but I allow them into my diet every once in a while.

You need to find what works for you and run with it.

Don't let some food snob talk you out of what works for you!

I would love to hear from you!
Let me know how you found my Blog.
