Can I really throw away that old container of lotion?

skin care

Did I grip you with the silly, yet potentially compelling title?

Hopefully!

Let me set the stage for you...

I am standing in Whole Foods reading the ingredients on a bottle of face lotion when this lovely lady next to me asks me if I am using the "Yuka" app. I told her no that I didn't know what that was.

She proceeded to show me her phone and how she can use the app to scan a bar code of the product she is looking at and it will tell whether or not that products ingredients make it a good product or not.

I think my jaw hit the floor. I had her scan a popular product that I was buying all the time only to find out it was an 18/100 BAD (literally it used the word BAD).

So I immediately downloaded the Yuka app and spent the next 30 minutes scanning just about everything! Our actions caught the attention of the store clerk who had to know what we were doing. We showed her the app and now she wanted us to start scanning things for herself as well. Least to say I think I spent over an hour with these two women having our minds blown. Products that we thought were "healthy" (especially because they were at Whole Foods) were actually not!

At this time I was purposely looking for a new moisturizer and toner for my face. I was pleasantly surprised when I scanned the Cocokind products to have most of them rank at 100/100 and Excellent on the app. So I loaded my cart with their Rosewater Facial Toner, the Texture Smoothing Cream , and the Revitalizing Eye Cream. I have since gone back and added the Daily SPF to my morning routine!

I love that it leaves my face not feeling oily, yet moisturizes my skin so softly. I have been waiting for this product, I just didn't know I was yet.

Here is a video of my nightly routine now using Cocokind products.

I hope that this will inspire you to check out the Yuka app and really begin taking the time to see what you are putting into your body. It may not seem like a lot if it was just one or two items that might be potential endocrine disruptors; but when you have 6 or 10 products you use on that all have an endocrine disruptor in them you begin to wonder what that is doing to your body.

So I invite you to join me on this wild ride of making my body and life a little bit healthier every single day!

Comment on this post and let me know which non-toxic products you are using! I can't wait to hear from you!

All my best! As always!
