It's a lot harder than it looks....

So as I look back at 2016 me...I see now that she was full all the great ideas and she thought she would easily execute them all! Well it's a whole lot freaking harder than it looks!
Now believe me, by me admitting this I am not giving up on a single dream, vision, goal, or great idea.I just fully understand now how hard it is and give mad props to any entrepreneur out there. So my hat goes off to any of you out there... you did it!
It's a LOT harder than it looks... you need time, then some more time, then some more after that!
A blog has been on my mind for years. Since blog's existed in fact. I have loved writing my whole life. Whether it be winning the Young Authors Faire with a compelling book about a little girl running into a castle to slay the evil dragon or my own angsty teen diatribe in a diary. There are days that I kick myself that I didn't pursue my English degree in college. I wonder what could have been, what could I have created or accomplished. Those thoughts though just propel all of the other creative ideas swirling around in my mind.
So when I embarked on this journey in November 2021 to fully create The Abundant Bee as a brand I knew a lifestyle blog needed to be a part of it. I want to fully encapsulate each part of what I am trying to create and document it all in writing for you. EKKKK!!!!
It is really important to me to make sure that my content is always free and available to the masses. My goal is to inspire someone else to pursue their dream. At the end of the day it is not about how much money I made flipping furniture, how many followers I have, or if I am able to monetize my social medias. It's about people! It will always be about people! If I can take some time to share myself, my experiences, and impart any knowledge/wisdom behind creating something, that will always be the most rewarding part of this.
Here is a recap on each of the things I am trying to accomplish all at once:

Furniture Flipping: This has taken the majority of my time. What no one tells you is just how addictive this type of creativity can be. Once you see what you can create and put together you want more pieces. Then every friends boyfriends cousins mother in law comes out of the woodwork and offers you furniture. Which of course you cannot refuse because... let's be honest... they are amazing pieces!
So I sit here now with 18 pieces of furniture in the garage! Each are on some place of the finishing spectrum and I love them all.
Did I go over board....MAYBE!
Do I regret it... NEVER!!!!
Right now 6 out of the 18 pieces are done. Great, right? Well... now I have convinced myself that I can finish it all by October (originally they were supposed to be done before school started in September) and host a sale at my house. A hopeful launch party for The Abundant Bee! Now, what that entails is me needing time, which I don't have on my side! Because of ALL the other things I am about to list below this. So hold onto your hats!!!!

2. Crocheting: If you don't know already I do have an Etsy shop which I am always trying to create for and list new items. If you have not crocheted before let me tell you. It takes TIME!
What looks like a simple pillow right here would take hours. Which is great when you want to just sit and watch Netflix and crochet all day. That isn't happening!!!!!
So if I sit and watch an hour show (like "House of the Dragon" - GOT fans... Woot Woot!!!) then I crochet. If we are watching reruns of Big Bang Theory then I crochet. Hope fully you are seeing how long a blanket could take then. The one I am currently working on to match my pillow set has taken me months to get 1/3 of it done. If my pillows get sold before the blanket is finished then I will just have to make another set of pillows! OH BOY!

3. Real Estate License: It has officially been 3 weeks since I have even opened my book. I am halfway through Chapter 5 in the final course and I have 9 chapters to go after this. I have to go back and look at the rules because I think I have to finish by October.
If so...
I just have to keep moving forward. My newest lesson in this will be scheduling reading time.
4. Gardening: I think this funny reel from Instagram that I made explains it all!!
I love gardening but if you are going to have a full blown garden which expands very large sections of your backyard....you are going to need time to weed, move, fix, water, etc...
If you weren't aware the Bay Area just went through a record breaking heat spell, so I haven't gardened in about 2 weeks. The weeds are taking over what I had just planted. I once again will be pulling everything out, disposing of what was sun scorched, and spraying some weed killer, then replanting. UGH!!! It is a love/hate relationship. It looks gorgeous in the end but the work to get it done just hurts everywhere!!!

5. Wine: Can we just say this is a beautiful picture?!?!?!?
I really enjoy wine tasting. I enjoy pairing my wine with meals, cheeses, snacks, etc...
I also love photographing wines! This picture (for the 2nd shout out) turned out especially beautiful!
After I finish my Real Estate license I would really love to take a Sommelier course to learn so much more.
I love sharing great wine with people. Each weekend at Costco or the store, I see people that look lost choosing their wine. It's as if they are going "eeny, meeny, miney, mo" with their choice. I love being the sociable person to give a suggestion. To this day I have a secret "party wine" that I used to bring to any occasion, that was a simple $12 wine, but no one would ever know! They thought I was brining a prized pick! It's my party trick!! Shhhh... don't tell anyone!

6. Building My Brand & Market: An ever evolving thought that I am patiently trying to put into action.
I do have a thought and dream that I want to execute but I need more funds. It is a big lofty goal. I think it could be great! So please believe with me and pray that it will one day happen.
There is so much to learn about brand creation and I don't think I have even scratched the surface. When I am driving, crocheting, painting furniture I am listening to people talk about brand creation, SEO, pursuing your dreams, concepts and ideas. I am trying to take in as much information as humanly possible. I believe that I can and will retain that info and put it into being.

7. Website Creation: This has also been another long planned dream. I have tried many times to execute to no avail. I returned back to Wix to create it after many hard times with Word Press, I just couldn't figure it out. This is a huge task! I feel like I have it built but it also needs to be updated. So thinking out what I want the content to look like takes time. I feel like I have done a pretty darn good job so far and the website really pops!
(I guess I need to add photography to one of my points because none of this happens without pictures being taken!)
I want to be able to build the site on my own for as long as imaginably possible as that is part of my "How To Series" on YouTube that I want to share with anyone who is willing to listen!

8. Remodeling: We are currently helping a friend by remodeling her home. Right now we are working on the Master Bath, Master Bedroom, and downstairs Half Bath. Then we will move onto the Hallway Bathroom and 2 extra bedrooms.

It has been so much fun learning new skills, like tiling and grouting the floor (seen above) ... yep I did that!!! I am so excited to watch and see this transformation come together. I have watched HGTV and This Old House for years hoping and thinking that one day I would have the opportunity to get my hand on my on DIY house project. Not being a homeowner myself yet I am very limited on what I am able to do in my house. Even though if it was up to me, I would rip the carpet out of my house right now and put down literally anything else! I hope to share some more as we go on.
I am currently watching the follow YouTuber remodel a cottage in Texas and she is my favorite thing to watch right now.
She has an entire playlist from beginning to end of them getting their house and starting renovations.
9. YouTube: This is a BEAR! But I have a solution! I just finally purchased a stand for my phone so I can start creating content on EVERYTHING!
LOL... maybe taking over the world isn't a real option... but we will let The Brain do the talking for us.
I hope it's not bad to say that I like talking into the camera of no one. When I started my makeup business years ago I never thought I would be able to do it. Now I am just determined to be my true goofy self in any video. I don't have to be perfect, I don't have to know everything about the topic, I just have to be willing to put myself out there and share ME.
So WELCOME.....
